This is a welcoming and very well run CDE. The atmosphere is casual and fun and it is a great first time event for drivers that want to give combined driving a try.Organizers: The Indiana Whips and Wheels provide thorough and helpful competitor packets both when they receive your entry and again when you get to the show. This year's show packet included a great booklet with all of the competitor names and horses and nice obstacle photos and diagrams.
Stabling/Trailering: Stabling and trailer parking is very accomodating. The stalls are well ventilated and permanent. Water is on one end of the shedrow and the washing areas get very muddy quickly.
Food/Hotels: There was plenty of food available from the organizers and the onsite small restaurant. Additional restaurants were just a few miles down the road near the hotels.
Onsite Camping: Moderately clean showers onsite with RV electric hook ups available. Tent and trailer camping also available.
Marathon: The mostly grass course is flat to gently rolling on narrow wooded paths and open fields with some pavement on section A. There are a lot of tight turns and switchbacks.
Obstacles: The obstacles are welcoming but challenging and while some flow really well a few run a bit tighter and slower than some of the designs found at other shows. The water obstacle can get deep for those showing small ponies or VSEs. Spectators can easily see 2 of the obstacles but not at the same time.
Dressage/Cones: There is a lot of warm up area but the footing can be deceptively rough in places. X and G are marked with small plastic "whiskers". The cones course is fun, flat, tight and usually includes a wooden bridge.
