Metamora CDE Review
Keep in mind this review is from the perspective of a navigator and not a driver.
Organizers: The organizers were so great. They overcame so many challenges to make this year's show successful.
Stabling/Trailering: Temporary but nice stabling with easy access to the trailers and centrally located. Water access was limited to one wash rack with a few hydrants and there were lines especially after the marathon.
Food/Hotels: Onsite food was very good and readily available. The White Horse Inn Restaurant a few miles up the road in Metamora is highly recommended for a wonderful meal. The catered dinners were outstanding. Hotels were about 15 miles away. Very limited onsite camping.
Marathon: Challenging, hilly course through fields and woods. Horses and ponies must be in very good shape. Depending on conditions, ice is highly recommended after section E and possibly D as well.
Obstacles: Flowed well, challenging. Good spectator access to 5 obstacles.
Dressage/Cones: Very limited warm up area but there are many miles of dirt roads through beautiful hunt country to stretch their legs on. X and G marked with shavings. Cones course is big and fast with some elevation changes.
