TJ and I spent the weekend in Linville, NC driving at the Moses H. Cone Memorial Park and enjoying spending time with Fred and Louise's family.
The drive down was beautiful and uneventful and Odessa settle right into her usual place next to Yoder at Blowing Rock Stables.
Haley fed the horses early on Friday and we arrived about 10 for a spectacular drive. Odessa was ready to go and we ended up trotting a lot to try and take some of the edge off her. We trotted about 4.4 miles with an average speed of 6.6 mph according to my EveryTrails.com iPhone app, so we were moving out and Odessa wanted to be in Haley's lap the whole time. She's never been opinionated about being in the back before but I think that was her problem on Friday because she was also very forward on Saturday morning until I moved her into the lead. It's something we need to work on though.
The total mileage for the 2 days ended up being almost 16 miles and Odessa didn't seemed phased at all and still seems to like me so all is well.
Thank you to everyone, we had a wonderful time. We had debated on not going because we were so upset over losing Will. There was a lot to keep our minds busy but I thought of him often as we wandered through the beautiful trails.
EveryTrail Drive-Friday (lost the first 4.4 miles due to trying to drive and work the iPhone at the same time).
