Rachel, Erin D. and I all arrived about 10 and we checked in and unloaded the horses. The other half of the party was delayed because they forgot one of their coggins tests and had to go back. Then we got word that they had a flat, then the trailer brakes locked up, then the battery on the truck died, then during the wait I proceeded to lock my keys in my truck. It was one of those, "Are you kidding me" mornings. The only option was to laugh. So the nice East Fork management found a truck unlocking guy who just happened to be a few miles down the road and the locking the keys in the truck episode ended on a good note-minus $35. The other Knoxville group finally arrived safely and off we went.
We had a great time. This was Taos' 3rd trail ride but first time on a ride off the farm and he was great. I mean really great. Taos was purchased from Riverplains and is out of their Percheron mare Linda and by their deceased TB stallion. He's is a big adorable guy and took everything in stride. Both Bella and Salli were great as well and very tolerant of some bizarre things that happened. The three of us are definitely planning a return trip.
