Woodsmith Farm

I believe that Sunday was Odessa's first true trail ride with creeks and logs and stuff to negotiate and she was great.  I think it helped that she was madly in lust for Will, the gelding TJ was on.  She had a pitiful wanting look on her eye the whole time and would nicker softly if he got too far away from her and she squatted and peed about 5 times.  She was pitiful.

Aside from that though, she did well.  She still won't walk out in front by herself for very long but she followed Will wonderfully and we even went over a pretty fast moving creek 3 times.  She did a little dance the first two times before plowing through and on the 3rd time she hesitated and then ran at it lunging across but I had a hold of the "oh shit" breast plate strap so all was OK.  TJ said she was all legs, ears, high head, neck and tail bounding across.

 Will had some wig out moments himself and there was a big white tent that sent him into a tiz.  TJ wasn't really sure how to handle the whole thing so it was a little chaotic but we got through it.  I think Will was more upset over the tent than Odessa.  We have wondered over the years about how well he can see because he spooks at the weirdest stuff and he's been everywhere.  He shouldn't spook at anything.
