TJ called to tell me that we now have a big generator on the house and one on the barn so we have a lot of power! Yeah. The bad news was that the Harrodsburg water system has gone down again so our water supply is again shut off.
They are estimating that the rurual areas could take up to 6 weeks to repair and based on the unbelievable number of trees I saw precariously balanced on power lines as I drove in this morning, I would say that is not an unfair estimate. Our power will also probably be sporadic for quite some time. A coworker's power came back on yesterday, only to go off again today.
We have it pretty good though so I am definitely not complaining. It's sort of been like a camping trip with a lot of amenities...it's just a little chilly at times. And thank goodness TJ has been available. He has been giving me a crash coarse in generators and electricity as the week has progressed.
