I have a thing for snapping turtles. A co-worker bought me a magnet for my truck that says "I brake for turtles" because reason 1000 for being late for work is "I stopped to move a turtle".
Yesterday on my way to work I caught a glimpse of a HUGE one sitting in the grass contemplating crossing a 4 lane highway. I didn't turn around but told TJ I should have stopped and hoped that it didn't try to cross. Unfortunately I saw it hit on the side of the road this morning. These guys are a bit misunderstood, so I thought I would post some info about them with hopes that despite them being scary looking and acting, a few might get saved. The big ones are really old (50-75 years or even older) so they've seen a lot in their years.
