The World Equestrian Games will be here in 450 days according to Alltech, and what an exciting time as thousands of equestrian supporters work together toward the goal of putting on the first WEG held in the United States.
The Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington, and surrounding cities and towns have all been gearing up for the big event and roads are being widened, stadiums built, test shows held and the list goes on and on.
According to the Alltech website, there will be 600,000 tickets sold and 150 million dollars in revenue generated from this event. Rumor has it that accomodations within 30 miles of the Horse Park are already sold out during the 16 days of the event between Sept. 25th and October 10th, 2009. I don't know how true this is, but if so, give Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill a call. They are about 40 miles from the Horse Park and will not only provide you with a comfortable place to sleep but a great historic experience as well.
So Woodsmith Farm is excited about being a part of the World Equestrian Games Combined Driving event in 2010. It has been been an honor to have worked with several of the 4-in-hand teams that will be attending the World Equestrian Games and we can't wait to see them in action as all of their hard work and dedication to the sport of Combined Driving pays off. Good luck to everyone!
